How To Change The Nameservers At GoDaddy.com

Do you want or need to change the “nameservers” for a domain at Go Daddy?

Are you hosting your website somewhere else and the other company told you that you need to update your nameservers so that your website will be able to go live at the other hosting company?  Or are your hosting with Godaddy, but the parked page is showing up and your site is not active.  This section will tell you what to do.

Changing your Godaddy name servers is easy.

We have put a video tutorial below to show you how, but for those of you who want to read about it see below (and the video is lower too).

Follow these steps to change your nameservers.

1. Login to your godaddy account
2. On the left hand margin once you login, under the section MY PRODUCTS, click on DOMAIN MANAGER.
3. When all your domains load up, checkmark the domain you need to change the nameservers on.
4. You’ll notice that once you checkmarked the domain all the little icons at the top lite up.
5. Click on “nameservers”.
6. You will then need to select CUSTOM NAMESERVER.

This is where you type in the nameservers for the other hosting company. They should have already provided you with what nameservers you need to enter.

Keep in mind that Godaddy is the #1 hosting company. They offer multiple hosting plans to choose from.  If you are hosting with Godaddy, then you have to change the nameservers from PARKED to —> HOSTING NAMESERVERS.

My favorite is either the Deluxe or Unlimited plan.  The reason is because you can host multiple sites under one hosting plan. These other sites are called “alias domains”. I will add a tutorial on doing this soon. Or you can search the HOSTING category to your right to see if it is already done.  The other benefit of hosting with godaddy is that all your domains and hosting is in one simple easy to manage location. You can’t beat that! To see their plans and rates, goto their homepage and on the green button at the top, click on “hosting”.
