SHARED HOSTING: Shared hosting is ideal if you own your own website design software like Dreamweaver and you know how to build your own website.

There are 3 hosting plans available (Economy, Deluxe and Ultimate).

The Economy plan is idea if you only want to build one website.

The Deluxe plan allows you to host multiple websites with up to 25 mySQL databases.

The Ultimate hosting plan also allows you to host multiple websites, but give you a lot more mySQL databases to can use.

All 3 hosting plans come either in Linux or Windows. Linux hosting is the most popular plan, but you may also need a Window plan depending upon what software you need for your website.

Another great benefit of Godaddy’s Linux hosting is that it has a Hosting restore option which allows you to quickly undo changes to your hosting files. So if you mess something up, you can go back in time a few days to make it go back to working condition. Currently a Godaddy windows hosting plan does not allow for that.

Once you order your hosting plan, then you should logout and wait about 5 minutes. Then log back into your account and look on the leftside margin under MY PRODUCTS. You should now see a white link called “HOSTING”. If you click on it, then when the next screen loads up; look in the middle. You will now have the ability to setup your hosting plan to the domain name of your choice.

Once you set up your hosting plan, it will take about 30-60 minutes for the hosting plan to create itself before you can start uploading your html files.

When you go through your initial setup, you will be asked to create a USERNAME and PASSWORD. Keep this information different from your normal account login. The username and password is known as your FTP LOGIN INFORMATION. You will need this to upload your files if you are going to be using a FTP PROGRAM like Filezilla.

Once you want your website to go live, you will need to point your NAMESERVERS to your new hosting plan. How to change your nameservers.

It may now take your website up to 24-48 hours for it to go live.

WEBSITE TEMPLATE BUILDER:

Godaddy offers a great website template builder called Website Tonight. It is ideal for those of you who have either never built a website before, but want to and it is also ideal for those of you who just want to build a quick professional website.  All you do is choose a template you like and then start uploading your own files and photos.

You can easily change the look and feel of your website including colors, navagation buttons, add javascript, your own html code, videos and much much more.

You can even change the template with the click of a few buttons.

This is a very popular plan and it includes hosting.

DEDICATED SERVERS AND VIRTUAL DEDICATED SERVERS (aks VPS Servers):

Godaddy offers multiple types of dedicated servers and VPS servers including CentOS, Windows, 64 Bit, Ubuntu, Fedora.

Many plans to choose from with additional options including a popular Assisted Server plan for those of you wanting a little extra help.

If you are not used to working with servers, please make sure you have someone working for you who is experienced.  Buying a server is not recommended for those of you who do not have experience.
